Inter Intermediate Netball

On Tuesday some girls that were in the netball team went to Tokoroa for the netball tournament. As the day started I woke up as early as I could and got ready, I got to school at 4 minutes to 7 and we left at 8:00. I was really excited because I couldn’t wait for the day to come and my heart was pounding like I was having a heart attack. The teams we played were Te awamutu, Fairfield,peachgrove and Cambridge, once we got to the court we all had to run around the courts and do some stretchers.  Our first game was against  peachgrove and it was alright, the game was  a little tiering  because everyone had been doing nothing and not getting in front of their players. I loved our second to last game because everyone was happy and having fun. I love going to tokoroa and I wish to go again next year.

Using Minecraft in Math - 2D to 3D shapes

Indoor netball

For our Monday Module, we did indoor netball. For our last session we went to the indoor netball place. 

There was only two courts inside with nets everywhere so there are no outs. In indoor netball there are two centers for each team, two attackers and two deffences.

On the court there is a line across the middle and a semi circile on each end. The centers can't go in the semi circle, the attackers and deffencies have to stay on there half of the court.

There are six players on each team and we had one sub. We had a blue team and a yellow team. 

The teams had a close game but yellow won every game, blue was really close but they kept stepping and trying to throw long passes.

The mist swirled in the dark air as the train entered the tunnel. The ceiling crumbled as the walls fell with slime. Bats flew and cockroach’s fled. It was the one place to tell the best of stories, NIGHTMARES! “The Story Of The Bloody Finger.”
The phone rang, a boy picked it up, a man answered faintly. "Hello, I’m the man with a bloody finger, I’m one house away from you". The boy panicked and hid under the pocked-size table. A knock echoed. The door creaked opened, "hello, I’m the man with a bloody finger can I use a plaster?"

As the train entered the tunnel it was very dark I could only see a speck of light at the end of the track. The train was going really fast and it got through the tunnel pretty quick, on my tourist map it said we were heading towards the abandon Rat tail Bridge it got its name because it is wide at one end and narrow at the other. Then I heard a noise, as I looked out the window and heard the train driver yelled we are falling the bridge has collapsed I tightened my hands and shut my eyes.

The train was cruising along, when the day turned into night, as the train entered the tunnel, the train was picking up speed.

It was strange because the tunnel went for a long time, until a glowing light flashed like a bolt of lightning .it was so sharp it almost blinded me.

It was strange because a whole bunch of pictures started too appeared on the wall.

When we came out of the tunnel, the train turned in to brighter colors and it felt a whole lot faster, it’s like we went in to the future, “no it couldn’t been”…

As the train entered the tunnel I get stunned by their bright lights before running off. I know that I can’t make it so I look for any side tunnels. I can’t see any there’s only one more thing to do lie down on the ground in a straight position. I look at the other end of the tunnel I see another pair of lights. I hear the screech of the train’s brakes going on. And I see the bright sparks im sweeting like there’s no tomorrow just about as they collide I wake up sweeting, “wow” I say shocked.porn

“We shouldn’t be here” Jade said nervously.

“So” Amber replied

“Let’s go home” Jade said panicking.

“But this is so cool” Amber replied. They kept walking until they reached the old abandoned train station. “Wow” Amber said. They walked over to the train tracks.

“Do you hear that?” Jade whispered.

“Hear wh-

“Look out” Jade yelled. Jade grabbed Amber and pulled her out of the way as the train entered the tunnel and came out into the light. It had cobwebs and broken windows. They walked over to the train driver’s window. When they looked in they saw a skeleton………

Winter Olympics 2013

This year Winter Olympics was held over one week from the 12^th of August, to the 16^th.

Totara Springs Christian Camp was the venue that held the sports camp. Totara Springs Camp is near Matamata on 288 Taihoa road. At Totara Springs they have rugby, soccer, hockey, touch, and softball fields, along with a kayaking stream, gym, swimming pool, and cage soccer unit. 

Overall there were 24 sports, many were physical and many were not. The overall time was reduced in a game and how many was on the field (depending on the sport).

Melville came first in 8 sports and followed it up with 8 Silvers, which was a great achievement for the kids. Melville made 14 semi’s overall, they may not have come first in all but they put in a huge effort.  Melville also come first in other sports that did not need semi’s and final’s.

Even though I got injured just before Sports camp I really enjoyed coming and watching the squad do their best and try and win. I did compete; I competed in darts and petonque which Bunnerath and I came second, I felt pretty proud of myself for still being able to come second. 

All the kids had a great time at sports camp and most of them are looking forward to next year but for all the year 8’s who are leaving we’d all like to say thank you for helping make this a great experience.    

It was finally time for us to go on our favorite train ride. We drove up the road. And it was there the famous New Zealand train. We jumped on. It was a casual ride. Then as the train entered the tunnel it suddenly stopped, it began shaking everyone was panicking. No one knew what going on. But out of nowhere a zombie jumped out from under the train it tried smashing the window but it was too weak. The train drivers started up the train as fast as he could then we were off. the zombie was left behind.

On the 13th of feb 2013 my dad and i went to go live with my aunty, my dad sister. As we were driving to the train station the day was pale and wet . once we got to the train station  we took our bags out of the cab then we both had a race to see who will be the first one there, as the train entered the tunnel it was going out of control it crashed then it became a big bomb and killed my dad. everyone was surounding my dad then walked away sadly and heartbroken.

I was riding my bike while  I was thrown into  darknees,  I didn’t know were I was.   Then suddenly as the train entered the tunnel and all I could hear was people talking and the sound of a steeming engine of a  train,  but then I heard a lot of  people wispering dont move behind you i coud feel a heavy breath on top of me it was a dog i ran and ripped the door open and jumped i heavily fell on the ground with cuts and bruises all over me i was scared i ran home dreaded.

Minecraft in Math

As part of our math program we have been using Minecraft in Math. We were looking at the volume of different shapes and and using the minecraft blocks to calculate the answers.

Apple experiment

Last term we were looking at preserving food. We decided to have an experiment to see which method works best for presering apples. 

We tried freezing an apple, submerging one in water, hiding one in the dark, placing one in an air tight bag, cut in half and just left on the bench.

“Yay” I shouted, finally I can see my aunty and cousin’s. My aunty and cousin’s going to come down from Palmerston north and I was existed that I was running around screaming.

As I was making my bed and cleaning my room I heard a knock on the front door the I rushed to it then open it. I was furiously because once I open it there was a random person there and I just let my brother talk to the man. After an hour I was already tucked in my bed watching Shortland Street then I heard a beep then ran out and all my cousin’s ran up to me and bowled me over then lift me up and said sorry because they didn't mean to. We all went inside then waited until my aunty was finish eating something that my dad made.  When I was outside helping my cousins getting the food and salad I saw something in the box then I open it and got a fright because I through the salad up in the air then I started to laugh because the salad fell back on my head then we went back inside.

The day came to Saturday, time for netball and time for my Tongan dance. My netball game was a disaster because no one was defending that well but all in all it was all right. After my netball game my aunty came to pick me up from the car park then we went back to my auntie’s house to get ready. Once I finished having a shower I went to put on my new dress on then I went with my uncle in the van and we all went to the church, we got to the church and had to take all the food to the table and help other people it was fun and tying. My aunty was so nice to me she brought me 2 blocks of chocolate.

My aunty had already been in the church sitting down waiting for the talk to start then came the minister in and everyone had to go in so my aunty was in the church only for 5 seconds. The minister started to talk then everyone sang as loud as we could.

On that Saturday I had fun and lots of chocolate so it was a busy day and a hard working day for me .

Bowling

Dad, Jaykib and I were heading to laser tag I was feeling excited. When we got there we saw that they also had bowling.  Dad went up to the counter and asked some questions about laser tag. The man behind the counter told us they were fully booked until 10 o’clock tonight which was disappointing. Dad asked if we could go bowling instead.

“Ok but you have to have fully covered shoes” the man told us. We walked over to the bowling lanes and picked 3 heavy bowling balls.

“We’re in lane 17” Dad told us. Jaykib was first to bowl. He walked up to the lane and rolled the ball. He hit 3 pins and by the end of his turn he had a score of 5. I was next. I didn’t know how to bowl the ball so I just did what Jaykib did. I watched the ball roll down the lane. I hit 2 pins and by the end of my turn I had a score of 5 as well. Dad walked up to the lane and bowled the ball he hit 5 pins and by the end of his turn he had a score of 8. I couldn’t wait to see who won.

When we had finished all 10 rounds Dad came first with a score of 95, Jaykib came second with a score of 80 and I came last with a score of 65. Overall it was really fun and I can’t wait to go again. 

the lazy day

At 9:00am,my brother and I, went to help with cleaning up .But my brother made sure he got the job done, because he was getting paid to do his job in the freezing cold.

Most of the time was rushing around like a buzzing bee “No!” that’s wasn't me I was being so lazy like a comfortable cozy cat in the warmth.

Morki the kindergarten pet was such the frighten cat that day. He got so scared that he attaches you if you go near him, at less he doesn't bite.

    The experience while I was there,was that  I felt  like a teacher, because I got to sit in the teacher’s chairs. While on the computers, but I did work as well.   

Weekend Recount

My Nan and I were feeling really tired we had just finished breakfast and I had pancakes from Mc Donalds then we had to head off to work, it was a really long day but the fields were so packed.

While I was there I watched a few of the games but when my boss (Carol Lawrence) yelled out to me I had to run for my life otherwise I would’ve got a growling and it would have been so embarrassing. The first time she wanted me to set out the medals just so they didn’t look messy while they were getting awarded. The second time she wanted me to put out some cone for the disabled parking so people that we not disabled. The third time she wanted me to run around the match mangers sheet to each field.

The first games were pretty boring, but during the second to last game all you could see were all the Tigers and Taniwharau supporters rushing through the gates it was the most important game it was the game to decide who the 2013 top team was. However before the game a few of the reserves team boys ran on to the field and did a haka to support their brothers.

My weekend over all was pretty cool except the parts that I had to work. The overall results of the game were 14-16 Taniwharau won.

Saitama Spot Exchange

Yesterday my school did a spot exchange with some student from Saitama.  All students were split into 9 groups and played 3 games each. The games that my group played and did were Netball, Zumba and  scatter ball.

Yesterday was eciting and fun, and I know that the japanese student had fun too. The students from Saitama have been in our school for almost a week, and people in the school have been welcoming them in our class. They have been staying in the class for the middle block then they will  go back after lunch time.

It was the last quarter of my netball game when I got punched in the face by my opposition and it felt like they nearly broke my nose. I was needed in the game so i carried on playing. Finally the game was over. I didn’t want to miss Scott’s game. So I quickly ran to the car. It was a quick drive to the Melville high school. Luckily I only missed about 10 minutes. It was 0-0 when I got there. But the scores kept going up and by the time the game had finished Melville was winning 32-0.

“What the? You sold a cow for three beans?”

What is that going to do feed our whole family? As soon as I left the room, I threw the beans outside like they were useless. The next day I went outside for a walk until I saw a massive bean stalk. I looked at it for a few minutes until I saw giant footprints leading towards the town, I knew this was something rare. There were houses torn and ripped into pieces and people running and, I saw a ugly looking giant he was so ugly I couldn’t describe him

In the thin air far in the clouds were three brothers of the giant’s kind.

Once in their home land, was as peaceful as ever until an earthquake came. Everything wobbled and jiggled and bounced around, hitting the wall as well as rolling out  the house.

The oldest looked down at mother earth and found specks of humans chopping something that was connected to their home. The smallest fell through the cloud to get a fight, but the humans had the last flick into the stalk. Up the cloud drifted, and had left the smallest giant behind with his footprints.

Scientist were in the process of making a shrinking formula. Their intension was to shrink only human to insect size to expand their research to look for things the human eye could not. While doing that, their formula failed and a large cloud of their formula emitted into earth’s atmosphere shrinking all humans that ever existed. A week past and many humans were dying. Scientist knew that after a whole month the human species would slowly die into extinction. Animals roam the street of town making huge footprints and squashing humans and life as we know it, is no more.

It was a calm sunny day, when I saw this hugemous foot print leading me to a boarder of tree , that was called the wicked forest.

Rumours say that there lived a giant who wanted who wanted to play hide and seek. The villagers were frighten and ran away.

They say that the giant comes at night to find someone to play hide and seek with him. He seeks through the forest to find someone to play with. All he wanted was a friend. I really feel sorry for him because no one doesn’t want to play with him.    

One day a photographer wanted to take a picture, but not just any picture, he wanted to take a picture that was not ordinary, that nobody else would ever get a photo of.

 He was ready to go, he ran quickly down to town square, but nothing interesting was there, so then he ran as fast as a cheetah towards countess beach because it was getting pretty dark but the street lights were making the road glow.
When he arrived at the beach he was amazed nobody was there then he seen why a gigantic foot print in the ground.

As I was walking down the beach on a sunny hot day I could fell the ground shacking like an earthquake. I saw 2 giant footprints on the sand then I started to run around like I’m in hell I finally saw the giant and screamed as loud as I could, then my mum came to get me. As the giant passed  my mum and I, I almost passed out because the giant smelt like garbage and he had old rusty clothes that were dirty.   Running around screaming and crying at my mum telling her to take me.

King Kong has broken from the P.M.C.J.F (prime mates central jail facility). Prints have been found on a secluded beach on the eastern side of New Mexico. Reporter Ali Williams is on the scene,

“There has been numerous phone calls come in due to this major incident, and many people are worried for their children, scientists though have ensured that all children will be safe and secure.”

Surveillance cameras caught the event on tape. Cameras showed that Kong, break from his enclosure, and then made his way along the beach leaving a massive path of mass destruction.

One stormy night the king of giants had been poisoned to death when he ate something. When is two sons and one daughter had heard about it they screamed with rage, and then they jumped down to the forbidden planet called earth. A Earth man saw the giant girl in tears but she didn’t like it so she shrunk him from human size to ant size. When he looked up his foot looked like a giant’s footprint. As she was walking off her brothers declared war against his people to see who killed him.

Neco was staving when he suddenly saw something purple in the corner of the fridge. It was an apple. He couldn’t resist it. So he took a huge bite. He felt his legs getting shorter. The next thing he knew was that he had shrunken from eating that apple. He went to explore the outside world. He was never allowed to go outside. But because he could fit in the doggie door. By the time he got back his parents locked it. So he went for a long walk to find a big house to live in. he found a huge sandcastle at the beach.

“I can’t wait to get to the beach’ sally said excitedly.

“yeah it’s really hot today’ I replied

“We’re almost there kids’ mum said. When we arrived at the beach sally and I leaped out of the car and jumped down onto the soft white sand. “Look at that is it a foot print?” I asked sally.

“I think so… it’s huge” Sally replied. As we got closer we could see how big it was. “It’s about 10 meters long’ I said. We followed the giant’s foot prints to the cave. “Do you think that there’s a giant in there?”

Popcorn follow up

We stared by buying popcorn seeds from the super market. Then we got a tray and filled it with soil.Then we then put the seeds in between two wet paper towels.We waited for roots to pop out.After about two weeks the popcorn seeds had long roots. We planted the seeds in the soil and waited for them to grow.

After about two weeks the seeds had sprouted leaves, the stalk came next.We kept watering them and they kept getting bigger. They now have long leaves and thin but strong stalks.

The popcorn is much bigger now. They have lots more leaves, old brown leaves are falling off and new green leaves are growing in there place. Some plants are just starting to grow while others are really big.
