SPCA letter

It was lovely summer day as I was walking home from school. Suddenly, from behind some bushes I heard some barking and scratching sounds

I slowly bent over and saw a litter of little puppies sleeping inside a big box. I gently picked up the box and saw the little puppies wake up. I took the four puppies’ home and fed them. I gave tall four puppies’ shelter and food and water. I quickly called my friend Taamoa and Teata to come and see the four puppies I had found. We started to take the puppies out. As we were doing that two puppies were badly hurt. I called my mum so that she can call the SPCA and make an appointment.

Story starter: four little puppies!

It was a lovely summer day as I was walking home from school. Suddenly, from behind the some bushes I herd some little barking and scratching sounds. Imagine my surprise when I found a box with four little puppies in it behind the bushes.so I picked them up and I got my jumper out of my bag and laid them on that and I took them home  and got mum to ring the vet. We had another puppies already so I gave them some of that food. My little sister got them a drink of milk and we took them to the vet. They were a bit unhealthy and I am pretty shore they were in that discussing box for at least one or two days. So the vet said to do the five freedoms for a whole couple of weeks and they should be healthy in no time, I looked at my mum with a confusion “what is the five freedoms” I whispered to my mum, my mum said “I will tell you in the car”, the first freedom is the freedom of sickness, disease and pain the second one is the freedom of hunger and thirst the third  one is the freedom of discomfort the forth one is the freedom of cruelty and harm and the last one is the freedom to express normal behaviour. So as soon as we got home my mum and my little sister went to go buy a  little bed for them and a worm blanket for them and some toys a collar  for them each and  some food and some more milk. As soon as they got bake we set the bed and the toys and stuff in my room, me and my little sister took them outside and played with them and we got out there toys. After that we gave them a bath and washed them from head to toe then we put them in the lounge with us and they were running around and the two little girls were on the couch with my mum and they started falling asleep, we had not named them yet so we just could them over to were ever we want them to be. The two little boys were fighting and playing around it was funny because my brother was laying on the floor and they were climbing on his back.

The Litter

       The Litter
To Norm
It was a lovely sunny day as I was walking home from school. Suddenly, from behind the rustling bushes I heard some little barking noises and scratching sounds. I opened the soggy, whimpering box. I panicked, there was a litter of four abandoned little new born puppies. I went back around to the pathway to see anyone nearby. There was no one around, the streets were silent and deserted. Not a single movement and the wind blew through my face. I ran quickly back to the litter of puppies. I carefully picked up the box full of puppies. As I walked home I walked past the local dairy. I walked in and asked if I could borrow the shopkeepers phone to call my mum. As soon as I said something I got yelled at. Then after she cooled down I apologised and told her about the puppies. She was quite surprised and then after I said I have to go and I will meet you at the vet. After I thanked the shopkeeper and walked outside and stopped to look at one of the puppies, I picked up one of the puppies and looked at the puppies face. The puppy had an ear infection. I ran carefully but quickly to the vet. After the vet looked at the poor puppy, my mum said that we could take them home.

As I carefully opened the box I saw the little cute puppies there were two black ones and two light brown ones so I took them home I feed them I cared for them I found them a new home I played catch with them
they loved me and i was there new owner.
I was going to run home and grab my money to buy some biscuits, water and container to feed them. I think bill, Jill, will and Phil. Is what I’m going to call them I wanted to take them to home but the thought of isn't that good? I took the box to the S.P.C.A. They would love them, care for them and even give them a home. They asked me if I would want them I said “oh no thanks it would be a bit much to handle with my cats.”         freedom from thirst and hunger.

It was a lovely sunny day as I was walking home from school. Suddenly from behind some bushes I heard some little barking noises and scratching sound. Imagine my surprise when  I found a box with four little puppies in it behind the bush.

I politely opened the box to see what was in it. I was surprise that there was 4 puppies. As I gather them out of the box I took them for a run around the park. I felt so sorry for one of the puppies because it couldn't keep up with us. I quickly picked the puppies up and ran home, I was nervous as I got home because I was home alone. So I got the phone and rang the vet. I told the vet that I found 4 puppies but only one of them was hurt. The veterinarian told me to bring all of the puppies to the vet but before that she told me to give them food and water.  I looked in the cupboard but we had no dog food, gladly my mum came home from work. I quickly rushed her to the car and we were on our way to the markets to get dog food, and from there we went to the vet. The puppies ate there food happy and ate it quickly like they've never eaten before. WOW! What a day I had. At the end I got to keep one puppy. How lucky I was.

Imagine my surprise when I found a box with four little puppies behind the bush, I stared at the puppies when I took it into the sunlight. Poor things, they’re as pale as a blank page. I started walking fast towards my home and ask for some help. We fed them until they got a little colour back. Two were Golden Labradors, one was a beagle and the other was a German shepherd. Later on we gave them some fresh air and some exercise and their colour was getting back. Finally I rang the vet just in case we missed something. We stayed there for a few hours and the vet doctor reminded me to give them the five freedoms. When I got home I remembered my mother and brother were allergic to dogs so I made my way to the SPCA and asked them if they could take the puppies.

SPCA

Imagine my surprised when I found a box with four little puppies behind the bushes. I gently placed them in my jersey they were so small and there fur felt silky smooth they didn't make any noises at all, I think they were frighten.

What should I do with them I thought, maybe I could take them to the SPCA. Not long ago Norm Hewitt visited my school to talk about what the SPCA do. Or I can take them home and care for them feed them and raise them as my own.

I decided to take them home, as it was getter late and I knew they would be hungry when I got home I made them a bed with pillows and blankets, one by one I gently laid them in their new beds.

My mum and I rang the SPCA they said they’ll pick them up tomorrow morning. The puppies started scratching and making a lot of noises, I knew they would be hungry & thirsty. But when I looked there was one little puppy not making noises I picked it up and held it against my face I began to give him some food and water. He seemed happier he began to bark. I put him down and fed the other three.

How could anyone abandon these puppies there so beautiful? When the SPCA picked them up I sadly looked them in the eyes I was upset but I knew they would take great care of them.

It was a lovely sunny day as I was walking home from school. Suddenly from behind the bushes, I heard some little barking noises and scratching sounds. Imagine my surprise when I found a box with four little puppies in it behind the bushes!
As I walked closer they looked happy to see me. So I picked up them up. I went home and asked my mum what to do. She told me to call the S.P.C.A. As I gazed at the puppies they looked sad and pain, so instead of calling the S.P.C.A, I called the vet and set an appointment.
I'm glad that they can have the freedom of pain sickness and disease. As days went past I've regret giving up those puppies but it has been an honor to help them, I hope there owners give the five freedoms to their pet.

It was a lovely sunny day as i was walking home from school suddenly from behind some bushes i heard some little barking noises and scracthing sounds. Imagine my surprise when i found a box with four little puppies in it behind the bush! It looks like they were just born i wondered wha would happen if i left them there? I would regret it so i picked up the box and carried them home. I showed my parents. I gave them some food and water. I put them on a blanket to keep them warm then mum said to take them to the vet. The veternerian said that most of them just had scratches and bruises but one of them had a broken leg so it had to stay there over night. A week later we found a home for them we made sure they looked after them and they were all cared for very well in the end.

Four legged friends !

Monday 14th april 2014

As I carefully lifted the old rugged box the 4 puppies whimpered and stuck out there big eyes. They looked really under nourished so I took them home and feed them some of my cats tin food, I also gave them some nice refreshing water. I also took them out for a play in the backyard they were really playful especially when I thew the tennis balls.

One of the puppies had a really bad skin infection so I rang the vet to book in an appointment. I had an appointment for 3:30 but it was only 12:49. As we waited I took the puppies into my room. They were so adorable. As time past I took the puppies for a walk. At 3:15 and my alarm went off I asked mum to please take me to the vet. She said it would be her honour as I was helping her favourite animals.

We got to the vet and the veterinarian said hell be okay if you rub this cream on his ear two times a day before breakfast and after tea.

I had already fallen in love with these puppies but I had to ask the boss (mum) if I could keep them first. She took a long time to decide but she said yes.

I named them Duke, Lauren , Casey and Andrew 2 boys and 2 girls. And i love them more than anything, there like one of the family.

It was a lovely sunny day as I was walking home from school. Suddenly from behind some bushes I heard some little barking noises and scratching sounds. I'd  found a box. I slowly open the old damp box terrified of what I was going to see, when four light brown fluffy German Shepherd puppies leap out and cry with joy to see me. I gently lower my hand to pat the litter of puppies when I see a scratch through one of the puppies leg. I swallow and pick them up and take them home to organise a appointment for the vet.

One day I was asked to be a life grade for the next two weeks because the last life grade was attacked by a shark and was badly hurt. I said yes. It smelt like fish and tasted like sand but. I sat there the whole week. “One more week to go “I said to myself. Today it was very windy and the waves were bigger than ever. Lots of kids in the water it looks like they are drouning I run to help. I run to help I thought I had enough time to help.

By Dayton.

100 word challenge.

But I thought I had enough time to pass the ball, number 5 from Goldstone collage was really tall and got a great intercept. She passed a beautiful pass down to her teammate number 13 closer to the basket. Number 13 drove through and tried to do a lay up, unfortunately for her she missed. My team caught the rebound, Stacy dribbled the ball through to half way and then passed to Dayton he dribbled towards the basket. Dayton had made the shot the crowed cheered he got it in.
The end result of the game was 43/29 to us .

One day Tanisha decided to take her dog Bronson for a walk. He hadn't been for a walk in a very long time and he looked very unfit. She got ready for school that day and headed off to Melville intermediate. When she came back she had lots of chores to do and it took hours and hours, by the time I was finished it was dinner time, “ but I thought I had enough time to walk the dog” she whispered to her mum  its now too late and I can’t see anything if I walk him.

But I thought I had enough time to finish off my seventy word spelling test. We only had fifteen minutes to do it but I had just come back from the dentist. I was wondering how could I do all of this work in eight minutes?
I was so worried and scared. How could I finish all of this? I was squeezing my hands so hard.
I looked at the words that we were writing so I copied them all. Then I caught up I was so excited and very very happy.
I was proud of myself.

Killed By a Mutated Jellyfish.

In the year of 2501 the unexpected breakout of the poisonous atom sized Jellyfish flooded the pacific. I was only 12 when I got a visit from the jellyfish. I was enjoying the beach on a hot summer’s day, it had amazing weather too, no clouds at all. The beach was empty apart from me. The water was nice and cold, I was happy until my relaxation ran short and I was instantly paralysed. But I thought I had enough time to survive, only the Atom sized Jellyfish had trapped me in eternal darkness forever.

As I dribbled the ball towards the hoop, I felt butterflies in my stomach. People were screaming for the ball “Taylah” shouted Lesieli. Everyone spread out waiting for the ball. I dribbled the ball closer to the hoop, I heard the shoes scraping across the slippery floor. I looked up and saw that I was running out of time. I went for the shot then, beep beep went the alarm, the game was over. “I told you to pass to me” said Lesieli, “but I thought I had enough time to shoot” I said. We both sprinted to Whaea Shervan.

“But I thought I had enough time.” That was the last voice I heard that day.
Beep………. Beep………. “Quick! Over here!”
“Please help my child!”
"Please be quiet, we need to concentrate.”
Everything blurred when I opened my eyes, I tilted my head but it stung my whole body. I found the last
strength to whisper,
“Where am I?” Then I fainted.
“Please tell me! Is she alright?”
“She’ll be fine for now.”
My body lightened when the curtains flew open.
“You haven’t had vitamin D for quite a while.”
“Where am I?”
“Don’t you recognise it, you’re in hospital."

Our Changing World

Our world that we live in is every changing. With different seasons and different weather but what if the changes were caused because of 'Global Warming' and what if these changes were permanent?  How could rising sea levels affect the way people live? Would we be able to survive in the world we are creating?

Rising sea levels and increasing temperatures caused by human activity was a key finding of a seven-year report by a UN panel on climate change released this afternoon.
In the Pacific some low-lying countries could completely disappear, meaning whole populations will have to be relocated to other countries.
One of those is the Marshall Islands, a group of 24 atolls lying just north of the equator halfway between Fiji and Hawaii.
For the 60,000 inhabitants of the country, discussion over whether climate change is real is an insult.
They've been watching their country disappear under rising seawaters for years.
Mack Joel and his wife Tilang have lived in Majuro their entire lives, and they say the island is disappearing fast.
As a child Ms Joel used to play in a park next to a cemetery, where there were trees halfway to the reef. Now, that park has now completely vanished, along with half of the graves.
The latest scientific reports suggest the world is currently heading for a one- to two-metre rise in sea levels by the end of the century. If those predictions are accurate, the Marshall Islands - like many other low lying countries - will be lost forever.

This is not the first time that the weather has affected change in our world that we live in. In 1976 the weather had a huge affect on the food production in Tisico

More recently while filming down in Antarctica, a group of researches discovered the most amazing change that our world has had yet. A group of Penguins realising that Global Warming was affecting the environment adapted and changed to insure their survival.
