Remember....

Remember the day in 1914,
When the world turned dull and the nations turned mean.
Along those English troops sailed, so brave and so tall,
Clueless of their rivals that will soon make them fall.
It’s crazy to think how much had to go,
To the war that started 100 years ago.
Remember the day in 1915,
When the world stayed dull and the nations stayed mean.
It was the day New Zealand joined the war,
The Turks shot them dead, nowhere near Gallipoli’s core.
It’s crazy to think what we now know,
Happened so fast only 100 years ago.

Rude

Broken,
Fragile,
Nowhere to go.
Green envy surrounds me,
Yet nobody knows.
Is it the way I act,
Is it the way I move,
Why do people have to be rude?

My cat doesn’t care,
Her spirits still lifted,
She doesn’t envy the boy that’s gifted.
I’m swimming through my thoughts those people intrude,
Why are these people now so rude?

Our society is corrupt,
No one stands tall,
The world is no longer one for all.
Social media attacks you,
Nasty words slap you,
Were humans made to be so rude?

Why is the modern world now so rude?

the hooded figure strikes

Slits, not eyes, glared through the shadows of the charcoal cloak. Night fall had struck by the time FBI investigators reached the blood stained mulch and leaves on the forest floor. I witnessed the whole thing, and it wasn't death that murdered Jessica Jane, yet he morphed out of thin air as soon as she was struck. Not to take her away, but to take her misty, milk white soul from her punctured body. Its midnight, and the hooded figure is still here, and out of curiosity, so am I. I just witnessed everything, that’s why death now faces me.

camp site confusion

Tripping, slipping and sliding didn't give me a distant advantage between me and the green slump of mouldy toxic moss. I could not believe the smell that protruded from the mutations frightening crevices. In fact it was so horrific, the smell had its own visible vapour! I came across this wretched monstrosity shortly after a confusing trip to the toilet. Why was it confusing? Well I am camping, and the park ranger is probably in hysterics, because the TOILET is 500 metres away! I'm nearing the camp site barrier as the slump halted suddenly. I guess it doesn't like camp fires!

A Trip to the Swamp.

A trip to the most desolate swamp on earth was my school’s idea, NOT mine. A swamp filled with exotic animals would assure one less child on the ride back. Our group shuffled with the host as we looked around, the humidity made me sleepy and I forgot where the group went. I had a small container of Pepper in case I had to defend myself. All of a sudden an object that looked like a puddle of Fanta drifted towards me. I let my pepper go before the soft orange crocodile bit me. It sneezed gross green snot everywhere.

My letter to World Leaders

Dear World Leaders,

Lucy is a special kid, but just because her life is different from ours doesn’t mean she needs to be treated a totally different way to us. Lucy should be able to attend school regardless of her disabilities. Donations would help Lucy lot, even a wheelchair would make her wish come true of attending school. Lucy does a lot for her family and eventually her own community. Maybe you should give her something back in return for the favours she does with courtesy. Lucy is a very special girl.
Please send her to school.

Sincerely,

Joshua Hearn

alien Invasion

It was a quiet, sunny day here in Hamilton. It was peaceful with nothing to do all-day. That was until my friend banged on my door. He was in a horrific state, trying to tell me something. But he just talked gibberish, some of the words sounded like a foreign language to my ears. Finally his speech made sense, aliens were coming. My reaction was to hide from the extra-terrestrial brings that planned to take over. I dived into the basement, followed by my friend and family. We managed to survive, in fact we were the only humans left alive.

Killed By a Mutated Jellyfish.

In the year of 2501 the unexpected breakout of the poisonous atom sized Jellyfish flooded the pacific. I was only 12 when I got a visit from the jellyfish. I was enjoying the beach on a hot summer’s day, it had amazing weather too, no clouds at all. The beach was empty apart from me. The water was nice and cold, I was happy until my relaxation ran short and I was instantly paralysed. But I thought I had enough time to survive, only the Atom sized Jellyfish had trapped me in eternal darkness forever.
